Due to the new drop-off and pick-up locations for the 2011-2012 bus routes, the Alamosa School District Transportation Department will be conducting a “trial run” on Thursday, August 18, 2011.

This means that the buses will be running their morning and afternoon routes without students.  These trial runs will give parents an opportunity to identify their child’s bus stop, meet their child’s bus driver, and to assist their child in safe walking and crossing procedures.

Bus schedules will be provided during registration.

July 2011 Press Release

The Alamosa School District Board of Education, during its June 20, 20011 meeting, approved utilizing district bus pick-up/drop-off points and not allowing district busses to drive on/through private property beginning with the 2011-2012 school year.

Students will be assigned specific bus pick-up/drop-off points for the 2011-2012 school year.

District parents and students are asked to review the list of bus pick-up/drop-off points and the corresponding map as some students will be required to utilize bus stops no further than one-half mile from their residences.

Questions will be addressed and additional information will be available during district registration—AHS: August 8 and 9 at AHS, Alamosa Elementary: August 9 and 10 at Alamosa Elementary and OMS: August 11 at Alamosa Elementary.
